Classification

A. Hematinics:
  1. Iron:
    • Oral Iron: Ferrous sulfate, Ferrous fumarate, Ferrous gluconate, Ferrous succinate, Ferrous aminoate, Ferric ammonium citrate, Ferric hydroxy polymaltose, Carbonyl iron, Iron-calicium complex
    • Parenteral Iron: Iron-dextran, Iron-sorbitol-citric acid, Ferrous sucrose, Ferric carboxymaltose
  2. Maturition factors:
    • Vitamin B12 Cyanocobalamin, Hydroxocobalamin, Methylcobalamin
    • Folic acid:
    • Folinic acid (leucovorin, citrovorum factor)
  3. Adjuvant haematinics: Copper, Pyridoxine, Riboflavin
B. Coagulants:
  1. Vitamin K:
    • K1: Phytonadione (Phylloquinone)
    • K3: Menadione, Acetomenaphthone, Menadione sodium bisulfite, Menadione sodium diphosphate
  2. Miscellaneous: Fibrinogen (human) Antihaemophilic factor, Desmopressin, Adrenochrome monosemicarbazone, Ethamsylate, Rutin
C. Anticoagulants:
  1. Parenteral anticoagulants:
    • Indirect thrombin inhibitors: Heparin (unfractionated), Low molecular weight heparins (Enoxaparin, Reviparin, Nadroparin, Dalteparin, Parnaparin, Ardeparin), Fondaparinux, Danaparoid
    • Direct thrombin inhibitors: Lepirudin, Bivalirudin, Argatroban
  2. Oral anticoagulants:
    • Coumarin derivatives: Bishydroxycoumarin (dicumarol), Warfarin sodium, Acenocoumarol (Nicoumalone), Ethyl-biscoum-acetate
    • Direct factor Xa inhibitor: Rivaroxaban
    • Oral direct thrombin inhibitor: Dabigatran, etexilate
  3. In vitro anticoagulants: Heparin, Sod. edetate, Sod. citrate, Sod. oxalate
  4. Fibrinolytics (Thrombolytics): Streptokinase, Urokinase, Alteplase (rt-PA), Reteplase, Tenecteplase
  5. Antifibrinolytics (Antithrombolytics): Epsilon aminocaproic acid(EA CA), Tranexamic acid
D. Antiplatelet Drugs:
  1. Thromboxane synthesis inhibitor: Aspirin
  2. Platelet CAMP enhancer: Dipyridamole
  3. P2Y12 receptor blockers: Ticlopidine, Clopidogrel, Prasugrel
  4. GP IIb / IIIa antagonists: Abciximab, Eptifibatide, Tirofiban
E. Hypolipidaemic Drugs:
  1. HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors (Statins): Lovastatin, Simvastatin, Pravastatin, Atorvastatin, Rosuvastatin, Pitavastatin
  2. Lipoprotein lipase activators (PPARĪ± activators: Fibrates): Clofibrate, Gemfibrozil, Bezafibrate, Fenofibrate
  3. Sterol absorbtion inhibitor: Ezetimibe
  4. Bile acid sequestrants: Cholestyramine, Colestipol
  5. Lipolysis and triglyceride synthesis inhibitor: Nicotinic acid
